F.A.Q.
What are your ratings out of?
All of the comics are rated on a standard out-of-five scale, one being the worst and five being the best. We have little stars to illustrate this.
How do you determine what age-group a comic is appropriate for?
That's really up to the person doing the review. We usually judge appropriateness based on language, violence, and nudity. If a webcomic has too strong of language or too much nudity, we would rate it as Adult's Only. Too much violence... well, barring an obscene amount of gore, that'll usually fall under Mature Teens and Adults. Other than that though, we'll judge on the level of humor used and who the targeted audience is. (Hopefully the targeted audience and who it's appropriate for are the same!)
What age-groups are there to chose from?
- Everyone - Suitable for anyone who wants to read it, all the way down to little kids.
- Ages 10+ - May have some jokes in it that younger kids may not understand, but is still appropriate. No swearing, violence, or nudity here.
- Ages 13+ - May have some jokes in it that younger kids may not understand, but is still appropriate. May have mild language and/or mild violence.
- Teens and Adults - Most of the webcomics on the web will fall under this category. The difference between this category and the Ages 13+ is that the humor may require higher education and/or a better understanding of the world than most kids have. May have mild language and/or mild violence.
- Mature Teens and Adults - Contains strong language and/or strong violence. May contain mild nudity.
- Adult's Only - Contains strong language and/or strong nudity and explicit scenes of a sexual nature.
Will you please review this/my webcomic?
Maybe. We already have a list of webcomics that we are working with or are about to get in touch with, so bear with us. If we do decide to review your webcomic, we'll contact you with interview questions.
I don't agree with your rating! <insert webcomic here> is better than that! <insert webcomic here> is my favorite! etc etc etc
Well, sorry you don't like what we wrote. Guess what? We don't really care. We do try to stay objective for each webcomic, basing our rating on art, writing, humor (if applicable), and update frequency. Sometimes we're forced to give a webcomic a lower rating because they haven't been very good about sticking to their update schedule.
